Through Ashes-to-Go we offer encouragement to people in the midst of their hurried and harried workday. A reminder that “we are dust and to dust we shall return” turns our attention to God and God’s ability to heal brokenness. Receipt of an Ashen Cross on one’s forehead also reminds us throughout the day of our need for God, and of God’s loving call to us. We offer ashes-to-go because God’s healing touch shouldn’t be confined to a building.

We are committed to taking God’s love into the world; to love as we are loved. In Lent, this often entails supporting people who wish to “adjust” their relationship with God, with family and friends, and with the world in which we live. This recognition and adjustment is what the Church means by repentance. We also point to the goal of Lent – the joyous celebration of Easter and the Resurrection in which we share through Jesus Christ, through whom God’s story of love and peace become our story. We wish for all to enjoy a healthy and holy relationship with God, with family and neighbors, and with God’s world.
